South Island Buzzing for KōBEE

To kick off our partnership with Farmlands, the KōBEE Bee Nutrition products had a feature display and demonstration area in the Farmlands marquee at the recent Southern Field Days event in Waiumu, just south of Gore.

Now available through Farmlands stores nationwide, our business development manager, Wayne Roberts, has taken the opportunity to visit stores throughout the South Island offering product training and support to the retail staff.

“It’s been really great getting to know the Farmlands staff around the country,” says Wayne. “Ensuring their staff know how to use KōBEE, how it works and the dosage rates has been our biggest priority.”

Wayne has been impressed with the feedback and interest in KōBEE both at the stores and while meeting with large commercial beekeeping operators throughout the region.

“The feedback is very positive.Almost everyone I’ve spoken with has heard about the product and is keen to try it for themselves.”

KōBEE is a mixed seaweed concentrate designed to provide all the essential amino acids, minerals and trace elements for optimum bee and hive health. New Zealand Seaweeds is currently undertaking a three-year field trial and are already seeing positive scientific data to back up the encouraging results beekeepers are seeing in their hives.

“The main question I am asked is how often they should be using KōBEE,” says Wayne.“Our recommendation is that they should use it every time they feed sugar syrup.Just keep a drum on the back of the truck and add it in to every feed.”

KōBEE is now a listed product within the Farmlands range so customers can simply order what they need using the Farmlands reorder code. Some stores will have the 1L, 5L & 20L containers in stock while the larger volume containers (100L, 200L & 1,000L) will need to be ordered.

“There are 31 Farmlands stores located within big beekeeping areas, so those stores will keep KōBEE on their shelves but people in other regions can also order what they need.”
